Flabbergasted.
Shutters cost over £5000, they were late, and I found out after raising a formal complaint upon installation that they are from a different manufacturer than the ones they have displayed in all their stores, use a different colour pallette and hinges.
Problems with the Shutters:
1. Neither of the Shutters is the colour ordered (Pure White) – John Lewis state the different manufacturer uses a different colour palette to what is shown in store (and brochure) and online.
2. Hinges not as shown in the shop (installed are small) – John Lewis state the different manufacturer uses smaller hinges.
3. Bedroom 1 top tier overhangs by 1cm.
4. Bedroom 1 lower tier right does not close (magnets do not keep it shut, and it pings back open).
5. Tier on tier space is uneven.
6. Tier on tier space is up to 1cm and lets a lot of light through (we had asked that the space where this
was to be, be where the window bar is so that minimal light came through).
7. Unpainted in some parts / poorly painted.
8. Some slats have excess paintwork.
9. Paint cracked in sections.
10. Some of the shutters do not close flat and allow a lot of light through (it looks very uneven).
11. Slats are not close to the edge and allow light spillage (unlike shop display).
12. Uneven doors (stick out in sections).
13. Can see unpainted/unfinished wood screw holes when shutters are closed.
14. Tier on tier Not aligned.
15. Shutters have dent marks and scratches.
I will be taking the matter through the bank/legal insurers should I not be fully refunded. I have also noted that John Lewis should remove the displays and literature in store as they are not selling the product they are displaying which is a violation of trading standards. Appalling service, appalling product and appalling attitude by customer service.
